FAQ
What happens in case of bad weather?
Please refer to the terms and conditions of your event as each event and venue have their own terms and conditions.
In the event of cloud cover or rain, we may run an indoor immersive guided exploration of the Universe, exploring the celestial dance of planets, stars and galaxies, using our astronomy software.
You'll learn how to identify stars and constellations seen through the lens of different cultures and civilisations. If the sky clears up, we will take the opportunity to do some laser-guided constellation storytelling outside under the stars.
Dr Dimitri Douchin our astrophysicist and TEDx speaker will deliver a captivating chat about the latest breakthroughs in astrophysics, his current research in cultural astronomy working with local Aboriginal communities, dark sky preservation and how the human experience of looking into the sky is universal and fascinating.
Can I book a private event?
Contact us, we would absolutely love to create some magic under the stars for your private event, corporate, conference or school!
How old must my child be to join the tour?
The tour is designed to suit children who are 6 years old and above.
No astronomy knowledge is required.
What is the best time to join a tour?
The Earth orbits around the Sun in 12 months. As a consequence, the landscape of our starry nights changes a lot throughout the year!
At times you will see the Moon, other times the Milky Way, Mars could be up there, or Saturn, or Jupiter, or Orion. It’s all season dependent.
Here are some pointers: if you like the Moon, come up a night of gibbous night (a few days before or after the Full Moon). If you like the Milky Way, come on a New Moon or when the Moon is set. If you’re unsure, nights with a thin Moon crescent are the best.
If there’s a specific planet or constellation you’d like to see in particular, shoot us an email and we’ll reply to you with a suitable time window to see that object.
Are we alone in the Universe?
We love these questions. Silly questions, strange questions, existential questions, million-dollar questions, they are all welcome during our tours. Come as you are and ask any questions during our tours. Our tours are very interactive so don’t be shy.
